Old is Platinum :) :)

Shahid Kapoor & Ayesha Takia

Tinku (My future grand child):  Grandma, how is it that a woman in bikini is being used to endorse a bag of cement, should not they be showing a muscular man or woman or a strong building. (I am hoping my grandchild will be intelligent enough to ask this question and not stare at the bikini clad model :) )
Grandma (Me):  Yes my darling they should but alas bikinis are more attractive than brains.   Let me tell you a story . Long, long ago when Sharukh Khan did not sell Fairness Creams for Men and Akshay Kumar did not jump above the buildings to catch Thumbs Up, (I am assuming that these guys will continue doing that, they will certainly hate to act their age even then :)  there were advertisements which showed more creativity and the functionality of the product.
Tinku:  No Grandma I do not believe you.
Me:  Well then watch these videos

  4. Oh, I'm like the romantic poets...I love the past...the movies, the books, the way of living, anything vintage and retro. I lived in New York in the 60s and I'm so nostalgic. But I'm more nostalgic for India, we were there from 1990 to 1995, my daughter grew up there and we love Indian food and movies...we were crazy for Amitabh Bhachan. By the way Sharuk Khan was in a hotel near us here in Rome last year! I'm following you from Rome but I'm from Trapani, Sicily. We're in Rome for the summer. And I'm stocking up on Indian spices since in Sicily I can only find them in Catania or Palermo.

  6. Well, I didn't really watch the videos you recommended but I believe that products were endorsed not the body ;)

In my country, just recently, some big posters were scrapped out of the streets because they were causing distractions to the drivers and people passing by. They showed loosely clad ladies...men's bare chest...lots of breasts and legs... These are ads and that's how they sell.

However, looking at the deeper value being embedded to the young and not so young, it could really give a great subliminal effect... you could just guess what it is...
